For a couples getaway, this was a perfect spot. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, nature and shore. We dined at the restaurant which was small, but food was excellent and prices reasonable. Breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely return.

Great Dog Friendly Manor House Hotel

The hotel is lovely and the staff is great. We stayed with our dog and he was welcome as well. We would definitely come back here again.

Venlig og hjælpsom modtagelse i receptionen, hvor vi fik forklaret både beliggenhed af værelset og hvor samt hbornår morgenmaden ville blive serveret. Værelset (det grønne værelse) som lå i sideløbende til hovedbygningen, fremstod ved første øjekast som pænt og rent. Vi kunne godt leve med, at der på ydersiden af værelsesdøren var tydelige ridser i lakeringen/malingen, og vi kunne også godt leve med, at der var en ret tydeligt plet på sengetæppet (selve sengetøj og seng var jo rent at ligge i). Efter en aften spadseretur i den tilstødende dyrehave (med masser af dåsdyr) og efterfølgende en tur gennem slotshaven/parken, hvor der var et utal af smukke og spændende træer samt kæmpe rododendronbede, ville vi have en kop kaffe på værelset. På værelset var der en kaffemaskine til kaffekapsler pgbudførlig brugsanvisning på, hvordan man lavede kaffen. Dog kunne vi godt have ønsket os, at der også stod om den selv slukkede efter brug. Kaffen blev sat på sengebordene, hvor det ene sengebord hurtigt viste sig at have en løs sokkel/fod som det krævede en umbraconøgle for at spænde, men heldigvis væltede bordet ikke mens kaffekoppen stod derpå. Min kone skulle på toilettet inden sengetid, men stod pludselig med håndtaget i hånden og igen krævede det lidt mere værktøj at skrue skruerne helt fast, men med lidt fingerkræfter sad der nogenlunde det fast. Morgenmaden var opholdets store oplevelse med en kok der stod og lavede røeæg/skramlede æg og div specialiteter. 5* for maden.

Det er jo et skønt sted - det kan næsten ikke ligge og være smukkere. Virkelig god aftensmad hos "Den hvide dame" med god betjening. Det eneste som trækker ned er stemningen ved morgenmaden. Det er altså ikke hyggeligt at sidde i en stor hal. Jeg er mega ærgerlig over ikke at have oplevet slotsstemningen, når man nu er i historiske rammer. Min formodning er, at slottet var optaget af et privat arrangement, hvorfor almindelige gæster skulle være i konference"hallen". Vi spiste hurtigt og gik. Ellers var alt andet i orden, men kommer nok ikke retur.
