Excellent stay at the Frederick Stearns hotel in Detroit. Beautiful renovation with free parking. Large suite style room and bathroom. Very close to Riverfront and the downtown.

The restaurant chef did not show up for breakfast on Tuesday September 8, 2026. Not being able to eat in the hotel caused an inconvenient change of plans and business meeting times.

Room was clean. Building is old, but they've done a great just modernizing the rooms. I was on the 10th floor with a city view, which was fantastic with a wall full of large windows! Staff was very polite and helpful. My only complaint would be the LOUD motorcycles that revv their engines, blare their music, and run up and down the street right in front of the hotel late at night. Goes on for about an hour. Also, a lot of homeless people hang out right across the street at the bus station. They do a lot of yelling and panhandling. Neither of these are the hotel's fault, obviously. But definitely worth mentioning.

Ibwas thoroughly impressed with the rehab of a former Fire Station Headquarters! The feeling was unique and nostalgic. I wish they would install a soap r towels racks inside of the shower. I had no place to hold my soap or towel while bathing. I hive the Hotel a 9.5 !

Staff was great and room clean. Overall great experience. The only concern is the 4 PM check in time. There is no grace period. We stayed in a luxury corner suite and did not get the room until exactly 4 PM in my opinion at 4 PM. Check-in is late usually 3 PM is more acceptable.
