I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Beachwalk and would not stay here again.
I am an elderly woman, and I arrived at the hotel late at night with my daughter. As soon as we entered our room, we were hit with a very strong smell of marijuana. I am extremely sensitive and allergic to marijuana and its smell, so this was not simply an inconvenience for me — it was a genuine concern.
The room was also not properly cleaned. There were long black hairs all over the bathroom floor, and we were only provided with ONE bath towel. We had to go downstairs to the front desk to ask for additional bath towels and hand towels, and even getting those was initially made difficult.
We explained all of our concerns to the front desk, including the marijuana smell and the condition of the room, and were basically told that because we booked through Expedia, they could not do anything for us and that we would have to deal with Expedia ourselves.
So, late at night, instead of the hotel staff helping an elderly guest who had just checked into a dirty room that smelled strongly of marijuana, my daughter and I had to contact Expedia ourselves to try to get help. Expedia attempted to contact the hotel multiple times and through multiple phone numbers, but they told us they could not get in contact with anyone at the property.
I find the entire situation unacceptable. Regardless of whether a reservation is made directly with a hotel or through Expedia, guests should still be able to
