Staying in an old fortified property dating back to the 100 years war with stunning views from the bedroom of the Loire river was definitely a unique experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely.

Beautiful rustic hotel with amazing view of the Loire River. I truly felt like I was back in time. I was a bit surprised by the self check in, but figured it out. The hotel restaurant was nice, and many restaurants are a quarter mile walk into town. Excellent breakfast.

Captivated by the historical significance of the property regarding Joan of Arc and the Battle of Orleans. Late booking had us 57 narrow stairs up in a non-air conditioned room which did not excite my husband but it overlooked the river and the moon view compensated all that for me.

If you like old, quaint and quirky then this is the place for you. The proximity to the Loire is unbeatable with beautiful views and walks along the riverside. The room we had (402) was huge but accessed by a very tight and steep staircase. An interesting style of furnishings but the bed was comfy with good linen. The bathroom was also spacious but some DIY to the fixings would help. The evening meal is served by restauranteurs who are not involved with the accommodation. The food was tasty and well prepared at a sensible price. Breakfast is plentiful if a little haphazard.

Very special to be able to stay at the point in the Loire where Joan of Arc crossed to defeat the English! Lovely hotel with a friendly kind staff. Very very glad to have a restaurant in the middle of winter!

Been 4 times before. Great position on the banks of the Loire. No reception which I didnt like this time. No bar service for drinks. Went to a local shop for a bottle of bubbly and drank from paper cups on the veranda. Not quite the ambiance I expected ! The wc in my room was not fixed to the floor the whole thing including the cistern could have gone over. Room 102 ! Sad but will not be going back. Has got tired 😫
