We stayed 3 nights - Friday breakfast was terrific but Saturday and Sunday were not as good. I'm not sure why they took away some lovely breakfast items and replaced them with much lesser quality items for the weekend. Not good. And we were told breakfast started at 6am but then on the weekend we were told that it started at 7a. They should have told us that when we checked in since they knew we were staying 3 nights. We had events every morning that required us to leave at 6:50a - not helpful. The room was nice - could have used a sitting chair (it had one desk chair but nothing else other than the bed) but overall a comfortable room.

The Lucent Hotel is well-maintained with clean rooms. A special thanks to Yolanda at the front desk, who was so professional and helpful throughout our stay. What really set this place apart were the amenities. The lobby features a billiard table and chess/checkers setup, while the courtyard has a ping-pong table and a great, long hot tub that my kids absolutely loved playing in. While snacks and drinks are available for purchase inside, the hotel is also conveniently right next door to a Safeway. the breakfast is wonderful with pastries, pancake machine, Starbucks coffee machine and hot breakfast foods. The location is tough to beat—we loved being so close to a local park, Cook's Seafood Market (so good!), and the Menlo Park Caltrain station. Parking can be a little tight, but it is totally workable and, best of all, completely FREE. This has easily become our favorite spot to use as a home base when visiting the area!

The Hotel Lucent will be a favorite in my travel folder moving forward. Quiet property despite being on a main street and close to everything you need. Whether you are traveling on business or for personal reasons, Hotel Lucent will meet and exceed your needs. Exceptionally clean, modern, they make excellent use of space and everything is well laid out. Free parking (although I did not need it), great location for ride share or a short walk to the nearest CalTrain station (Menlo Park) or short bus ride to Palo Alto (bus stop is directly steps in front of the hotel). Safeway literally next door with convenient refrigerator in room, 24/7 coffee/tea/cocoa machine in the lobby area. FREE breakfast, a good one with excellent options for snacks and juice to grab and go. Snack bar on consumption for late nights (pay at front desk which is 24/7). Nice touch for the front desk staff to give you a quick tour of the property features as they show you the way to your room. Quiet, clean…even a 24/7 cold/hot water dispenser near the exercise area with its own light for convenience! Useful amenities in the rooms. Great sleep. Again this property is located on a main street with lots of activity but I never heard any of it from my room which was located on the second floor very near the street facing side. Everyone on staff was courteous and helpful. So pleasant. This trip for me was a last minute personal one. Hote Lucent was really affordablr, though I only stayed one night. Thanks
