“Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...

“I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! “Very comfortable accommodation tho furniture old and tired. Really lovely having a suite with separate sitting room as I don’t always sleep well and didn’t disturb my husband during the night”

“Repetiría el hotel. Echo en falta un control de temperatura en la habitación y más enchufes a mano, pues tuve que desenchufar la televisión para preparar un té. También eché en falta que en la recepción no tuviesen un adaptador para enchufes. El restaurante muy bueno, fantástico y su bodega más que aceptable.”

“Staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good and the one meal we had in the restaurant was great too. It's a little old fashioned in style which adds to its charm. They started breakfast early due to people going to the Open golf which was helpful. Only small negatives were the mid week breakfast finish time of 8.30am which seems a bit early (although they did serve a couple at 9am with no fuss) and the shower flow was not great. Overall would recommend to others.”
