Perhaps I wouldn't have stayed if I read the reviews beforehand, but I spent 4 nights there in room 30 on the upper floor, so I can say this; the room and bedding was clean. We did have to ask for a microwave and how to get the heater working, which the staff attended to promptly. The heater had a hum and wasn't all that effective, but the inside filters were clean. The shower fan was noisy, but I fixed that with some WD40, although the cover was loose. The toilet seat was also loose. The towels were nice and the bed wasn't uncomfortable. The walls were thin so you could hear adjoining room noise, but the sleeping area was well sheltered from the road noise. The shower was surprisingly good. I didn't partake of the restaurant, spa or sauna, but I can tell you the indoor pool was cold and the gym was embarrassingly unusable. Parking can be tight for larger vehicles if the hotel is pretty full. I was curious to see what would happen when I checked out due to what I read in reviews, but I was refunded my $100 right away. The hotel was convenient for our need to attend the Epworth Hospital and so I would probably stay there again. I did get woken by noise a staff member was making while cleaning out the outside ashtrays at 11:30pm. I found the staff polite and attentive to our needs.

Let start with the good: The apartment was a good size, and parking was easy. Location was decent - a short (10min) walk to the local shopping centre and tram line into the city. Oh, and there was plenty of dishwasher powder (other places often only have enough for one load)! That’s about all the good news, though. The appartments are not actually at the stated address. Reception is there, but apartments are on the other side of the highway. It’s not easy to walk across, and to drive you have to go up to the next major interception and do a u-turn. This might be ok if you’re just checking in, but we’d booked two rooms and they were nowhere near each other. Also, one of our keys stopped working half way through our stay. They warn you to not keep your key card near your phone (which we didn’t), but thankfully we managed with one card. Otherwise, we would have had to visit reception across the highway. The apartment smelt of mould as soon as we walk in. Lots of minor maintenance issues: holes in the walls, unfinished paint jobs and smudges all over the walls, a shower head that would stay up, broken chair, …. With a bit of maintenance, and some clear information (separate listings for the rooms and the apartments?) this place could be quite good. But, it’s not.

There literally wasn’t anything I didn’t like. For the cost I think the value was truly extraordinary. I will be going back. It was a little far from where I had to be but I will gladly drive that extra distance so I can stay in this level of quality and value. A great stay!

Room had a musty stale smell when I entered. Something that suggested strongly of mold or unaired facilities. Food in the restaurant was over priced and low in quantity. $36 for a Thai Green curry with one small bowl of rice and a small serve on a small plate is not worth it. But on a wet cold windy night I had no choice ! Parking was undercover and ok. Upstairs Queen sized bed was comfortable and warm. But that musty smell did begin to creep up the stairs in the early hours of the morning after I turned off the bathroom expeller fan.

I did a late night check in for a quick sleep really. The guy at the reception didn’t open the gate treating me like a criminal and did not let me in to the reception and gave me the key through the metal gate. He proudly said that I upgraded the room and you don’t have to come back and asked me to leave as it was late. When I walked in the room - the spa was not working and I had hairs on the bed sheets with the old smoking smell.
