“Our room was beamed and the superking sized bed was comfortable. There was a very thick duvet - a bit too hot for the weather - but an excellent fan was already in the room. Evening meal was good and a nice atmosphere in the bar and dining area. The waiter Connor was very attentive. Gluten free options are available but double check when ordering just to be sure!! Breakfast was self serve in a rustic kitchen . No GF options . All in all , a good one night stopover and a good price. Would go ...

“The whole place oozes character befitting its five hundred plus years of heritage. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable about the building and the area. The food is excellent and the bar area is properly traditional, down to the fireplace.”
