The hotel room was comfortable - had a good sized fridge, extra blankets, extra pillows, air conditioning, clean towels, clean bedding, ice machine, coffee/tea, hand-held shower head, and newer bathroom fixtures. There was only a slight transfer of sound between the rooms, and overall the other folks staying there kept it quiet at night.
However, there were a few non-positives to note. First, there was a broken pen cap on the floor where it would have easily been noticed. I'd like to assume that a cleaning person dropped it, and it went through the beater brushes of a vacuum - however it could also have meant that the room was not thoroughly vacuumed prior to my stay.
The shower stall is quite small, almost too small for me to turn around in.
Finally the curtains covering the sizeable window looking out to the parking area could only be described as "semi-sheer". I could perfectly see out, and I can only imagine how clear I'd be to someone standing outside at night with any of the room lights on. The activities that brought me to Manitou went late both nights, and I was completely unable to get an appropriate amount of sleep due to the amount of sunlight entering the room during the early morning, despite my sleep mask.
Blackout curtains are not expensive; you can't claim to be a motel without this very simple amenity.
