This lodge exceeded our expectations. Briedi & Brad were so welcoming. The lodge itself is beautifully set up on hill overlooking the lake with the beautiful snowcapped mountains in the background-simply amazing. We highly recommend this lodge

A 10 plus stay!!!

What an amazing experience - one of the best stays I have had ever. So much attention to detail and the most welcoming and accommodating hosts. Dinner was delicious (I am vegan and they were very accommodating). Every moment we we were there was absolute perfection. If you are thinking about booking here stop thinking and just book, you will not regret it!

Stunning view and well designed rooms with practicality, comfort and style in mind. The kitchen was well stocked with fruit and beverages and the breakfasts were made to order. The canapes in the evening were a special touch. Our hosts, Breidi and Brad, were very attentive to their guests needs and were able to provide valuable information on the area and its attractions. The daily farm activities were a bonus and helped us get a handle on one of New Zealand's biggest industries. We definitely recommend staying here if you want a unique and memorable experience.

Cabot Lodge is one of the finest hotels in the world. I say that as a frequent traveler to many different destinations. It's location is spectacular, overlooking Lake Manapouri in New Zealand. It is on the 2000 acre Cathedral Peaks Station that has 4500 heads of sheep, 1500 deer and 500 cattle (facts we learned touring the property with the extremely knowledgeable owner, Breidi, who with her husband, Brad, operate the lodge). Our suite was beautiful. The amenities were all luxurious. Brad's cooking is excellent (we had lamb for dinner). I can't recommend Cabot Lodge more highly. It's not only a great stay, it is also a fantastic experience. Being close to Doubtful Sound is only the icing on the cake.

Everything was truly excellent about our stay: the food, the accommodations, the service, and friendliness of the owners and staff. Through the years, we have stayed at a number of 5-star hotels. This stay was, by far, the best! I should also add that the views were truly breathtaking.

My husband and I stayed here for a night during our 2 week honeymoon in New Zealand and this was by far our favorite place we stayed! If we would have known just how awesome it was we would of definitely splurged and stayed an additional night. Breidi and Brad were fantastic hosts, from greeting us when we pulled in, making us feel at home, serving us delicious appetizers, wine, dinner, and breakfast, turn down service - everything! The property is absolutely stunning, and the farm tour was an unexpected bonus! This place blew us away. Rooms and views were outstanding, so clean and new! We really can't say enough good things about this place...it was magical. We HIGHLY recommend! If we ever return to NZ, we will most definitely be staying at the Cabot Lodge again. Thanks so much Breidi & Brad for such a memorable experience!
