Terrible experience — I do not recommend this hotel.
I booked and paid for my reservation through Expedia. When I arrived, I was told there would be an additional $20 charge because my reservation was for one person and my husband was with me. They agreed to $10, which I paid.
The bigger issue was that they then demanded I pay for the room again in cash, even though I had already paid through Expedia. I showed them my Expedia confirmation, receipt, and my card statement showing the payment had been charged. They acknowledged the charge but said it had not gone through on their end and insisted I pay cash and contact Expedia afterward for a refund.
I was not comfortable paying twice, especially since the reservation was non-refundable. When I questioned this, they threatened to call the police and told me to leave. They returned my $10 and continued telling me to leave.
The owner was also extremely unprofessional. She told the maid to take the dogs inside and put things away because she claimed I was “looking for a problem.” I felt intimidated and completely unwelcome.
I contacted Expedia, and their representative specifically told me not to give the hotel any additional money and helped me arrange another booking.
I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. I genuinely feel they were trying to take advantage of me by asking me to pay twice for a reservation I had already paid for. I strongly advise other travelers not to book this property.
