Had a wonderful time at Grupotel Mar de Menorca. The staff is fantastic, green spaces, clean pool, great selection for breakfast and dinner. The surrounding area is beautiful, cannot recommend it enough if you are planning a trip to Menorca. I'd suggest you rent a car if at all possible, the hotel is well connected but it is somewhat secluded (a good thing if you ask me!).

Food was ok but a bit repetitive. Beach was close to hotel but not very close and was not a nice beach at all. Staff were really nice. The atmosphere was very nice, no fighting for chairs by pool (there were plenty). Nice mix of families and couples.

The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable and housekeeping standards were good. However, there were several aspects that meant this hotel fell well short of what we would expect from a 4-star Spanish all-inclusive resort. We booked all-inclusive, but the food was a major disappointment. The quality and variety were more in line with a 3-star hotel. There were no traditional cold Spanish meats available during our stay, which was surprising, and much of the hot food was served lukewarm or cold, even when arriving at the restaurant as soon as it opened. This happened consistently throughout the holiday. The all-inclusive drinks package was also very limited. The cocktail menu offered only a small selection, and many drinks incurred an additional charge. In a 4-star all-inclusive hotel, I would not expect to pay extra simply because a drink contains non local branded spirits. The restrictions felt excessive compared with other Spanish 4-star resorts we have visited. Another disappointing extra charge was the in-room safe. Charging guests for a basic security feature feels outdated and is not something I would expect at this standard of hotel. Overall, while the hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant, the food, drinks package, additional charges, significantly detracted from the experience. In our opinion, this property is closer to a 3 to 3.5-star hotel rather 4-star standard.

October mini break with family

The perfect place for a relaxing few days in Menorca. The pool area is stunning, rooms are the perfect size and there was so much choice in the buffet. Overall a fantastic place. The only negative I have is the fact it’s impossible to read by the main pool as they play music all day and at times, it can be quite loud.

Nice one night stay

Only stayed here one night prior to going to the airport for an early flight the next day. Man on reception was helpful and gave us all relevant information. Apartment was very nice and spacious. Swimming pools were large and clean. Free parking. Our only complaint was that you could not get any food between 5.30 pm (when snack bar closed) and 7.30 pm (when dining room opened)! Can’t comment on breakfast as we had not booked due to leaving early.

A very nice complex with excellent staff and service and it is kept clean and tidy. The food and dining was good but it did deteriorate a little towards the end of our week as it got closer to the hotel closing at the end of the season.

Canutells break

Booked room only, but option to upgrade to breakfast or All inclusive, check in was very easy & straightforward. Room was spacious and and clean, there were a few ants on the floor near the window but nothing to worry about. I had a room without a balcony, and the air conditioner was not working, as I was only staying a few days it didn’t bother me.

We really enjoyed our stay at Grupotel Mar de Menorca for our family vacations with our 1 year old baby. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, there are parking spots close to the rooms, the pool area and playground was super nice, and the breakfast and dinner buffet was good and diverse. We could find everything for our baby: even though the baby crib was not ready in our room despite my request for one, they provided one pretty quickly, and there were high-chairs at the restaurant. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. And there is a supermarket and a beach just next to the hotel. The only negative point if I have to find one is the music going on all evening, but it was ok we couldn't hear it inside the room.

Welcomed by judgemental reception staff, relatively out dated facilities and very bland buffet and other food options. Could only see this working if you’re only really planning on sleeping there. My toddler got several cuts on her feet, seems the pool was not safest. Saw others with cuts too.

This is a lovely hotel, which was perfect for my first family holiday. From the start the front desk were very welcoming and even upgraded my room, which helped us as a young family. The food options were fantastic. We could eat as healthy or unhealthy as we wanted and the chefs/servers were very friendly. All the staff in the restaurant were very happy. There are two nice pools, one quiet pool for those that wanted to relax. We stayed around the bigger pool, which had shallow ends for our children and a deeper part in case we wanted a swim. They big pool also had music and an Animación team, running regular games for adults and children. They run kids clubs for several hours a day for 4yr olds and above. This was great for us to leave our 4yr old for a few hours break!! The evening entertainment was good fun too and no pressure also. Our suggestion for improvement would be to have fresh smoothies made at meal times and to have tea and coffee in the dining room at lunchtime and dinner. We would definitely recommend this hotel to families and couples.

Once we arrived at our room, we noticed that one of the towels was dirty and the garbage can in the kitchen was not emptied yet. The phone and tv were not working. As soon as I mentioned it to the front desk, they helped us with the towel and the bin and the following day with the tv but the phone was never fixed. By preference, we consider that this hotel has to remove the small soap bars and include liquid hand soap for the vanity instead. The menu at the place did not offer the typical food from Menorca. Luckily we did not purchase the all inclusive option because we were able to drive to nearby cities to eat great. One of our great decisions was to rent a car so we can go around the island to know the different attractions the island has to offer. The service desk personal were so eager to work out complaints. We would pay more for another place should we decide to comeback to Menorca which has a lot to offer to the tourist.

Loved everything about this place. So close to the airport, we were in hotel reception within half an hour of getting off the plane! Anna on the front desk was lovely. The whole place was so chilled. Kids (teenagers) loved that they could still get in the pool in the evening/night time. Two pools so one is 'lively' and the other much more chilled, however neither were 'too busy', it felt really comfortable all the time. Food was amazing. It is a bit in the middle of no where with regards of things to do within walking distance but there is a beautiful small beach at the of the road and a bus stop right outside that you can get into Mahon using. Some nice bits of entertainment and games throughout the day to break the laying around the pool up a bit! But honestly if your looking for a short break to purely chill out and let the kids have fun in the pool then this is perfect. Will definitely go back for another 3 nights in the future!
