Great little place on a big beautiful plaza

Great location right at the center on a beautiful square a hop and a skip from the major downtown sites and Plaza del sol. If you close the windows and blinds, the busy traffic seven floors below does not bother. The staff is very friendly and nice. The rooms are immaculately clean. Not a speck of dust in sight. Lots of eye-pleasing design, with lots of red contrasted against whites. Hence "chic". It's all in good shape; no wear and tear. The only down side is that there is no "lobby" per se and the common breakfast area is right outside of the doors of four of the rooms (which also have the best views onto the square). If you are a light sleeper, you might hear the breakfast sounds (which were not really loud; just normal), and you should choose a room on the side away from the breakfast area. My roommate heard nothing, but I did. And the breakfast is quite bland, especially for Spain. They have regular things like cheese and cold cuts and in generous amounts, but they taste like Howard Johnson breakfasts, a contrast to the food you find outside the hotel. These are little things, so I would definitely stay there again, since the major things like cleanliness, location, friendliness, and comfort were very good. There were plenty of singles, families, couples there from all over.
