Amazing stay option in Lusaka

Ongoing renovation means that water is stopped without notice. Only one restaurant working. Quite a few things on the menu not available. No response on Expedia re pickup request and not sorted on direct call that lasted longer than 15 minutes. Wake call delayed by 15 minutes. Very centrally located. Food in the kitchen is great and staff try to be helpful in the ongoing circumstances.

Great Lusaka Hotel

Great hotel in Central Lusaka, half an hour from the airport (600 kwachi cab ride). Feels upscale. Good food in the restaurants and breakfast buffet. Clean room, nice and quiet, good neighborhood, surprisingly affordable. I stayed two nonconsecutive nights and had an equally excellent experience both times.

Convenient and good hotel.

It is a great property and hotel, although the room was dated (but maintained well for a 40-year-old hotel). Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick. The front desk was helpful and friendly. Convenient location—nice green oasis in the middle of the city. The food was okay. It was the second time I stayed at the hotel.

The excellent staff and service is what sets this hotel apart. The masala dosa in the morning is a highlight. Unfortunately, the rooms are showing their age and upgrades are needed. I have stayed at the hotel 4 times now. There was no hot water and the toilet would take 1 hour to refill the tank after flushing. Hopefully a renovation is in the works.
