We stayed in a studio and wished we could’ve stayed longer. It was absolutely wonderful. Sure the place is a bit older but check in was easy and stay was great. The room was very clean and the pillows and beds were so comfy! Will most definitely be staying here again!

Loved this place! Owners were extremely helpful and friendly with everything. Yes, they're doing some renovations but still the best location and great place to stay. Already recommended to some friends coming out in a few weeks.

Amazing location for a beachfront vacation with everything you need within a 5-10 minute walk. Property is a historic building with lots of character so the rooms are rustic and basic. Staff are friendly and helpful when they are around, often a phone call away.

Management was very responsive to texts/calls, and they have a lot of amenities for you to use when you want to use the beach right across from them. Parking is also easy with the pass they give you, just pay attention to when street cleaning occurs. I would go back again.

The owner of this amazing space right on the beach with spectacular views is the best host we have experienced in the industry. The well furnished in period rooms have so many small details to keep you smiling. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. You will also get great recommendations for all of your needs in this area. Truly a place to stay and a beach to visit.

The property was super unique and vintage. Unfortunately they were in the middle of remodeling some of the rooms so there was a lot of furniture in the halls. There were almost no outlets in the room we were in, and you could tell they are working on electrical stuff. Overall super charming and an absolutely beautiful location. Definitely a unique stay.

A wonderful old style hotel…RIGHT on the sandy beach and steps from the pier and main strip of beach restaurants. the hotel gave us boogie boards, beach umbrellas, and other beach paraphernalia and we had a great beach day. We rented bikes and rode up to Manhattan Beach and back. Ate great food. The hotel is VERY old school. If you like 1920 architecture, a very relaxed atmosphere, and a beachy vibe (like I do), then this is your place. If you like elevators, concierges, and swimming pools…this isn’t for you. I’l be going back again and again.

Can't beat the location on the strand. Owner greeted me personally and took good care of me with parking permit and later checkout. They were in process of renovating so you can tell they are working to keep it clean and nice. Make sure to get parking permit before you pay for a meter!

Amazing historical hotel right on the beach in Hermosa. Nothing else out there like this 100-year-old hotel. Wake up to the sun shining off the beach. Go to sleep listening to the surf. Beautiful room with ocean breezes blowing through. Spacious. Tasteful. Lovely.

The Vurpillat Beachfront Hotel is a true gem in Hermosa Beach. The location is perfect because you are on the beach and a few steps from all the restaurants and shops. My family and I enjoyed our room -the bed was so comfortable and cozy! The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend anyone to stay here whether it will be a family, friends, or romantic getaway.

Location is great - unobstructed views of the ocean, fresh ocean breezes. However, the windows have no screens and can barely slide they are quite decrepit, as is much of the interior. Maybe when it’s finally finished renovations, it will be quite grand, but otherwise it’s very much a work in progress. Curtains are stained, old windows let in everything including street noise. If you’re ok sacrificing some clean comfort, it’s an interesting experience.
