This is honestly one of those rare gems that doesn't exist anymore. This hotel is so exceptional, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. We arrived at midnight and the front desk attendant and valet were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Our room was immaculate, the fireplace and amenities flawless. The location is convenient, quaint, and easy to navigate. I don't want people to find out about this place because it's too good! I don't think I'll stay anywhere else in Los Angeles ever again.

The staff was very friendly and helped me find the things I was looking for during my stay. The room was great with a very nice balcony. Great shower in the room. The gym was perfect for a quick workout before my event at the Culver Theater. Before I left the staff helped me ship home an item that was too large to carry on the plane. There is a barista at the front lobby and the rooftop restaurant had a very cool vibe. I would stay here again.

The only criticism of the Shay is they don't market their rooftop well enough - it's awesome! Delicious food and drinks and stunning views. The Shay is handy for the metro and there are a good selection of restaurants nearby.

I arrived in California early because we had a full day planned, and my son also had some work he needed to get done. We made it to the hotel around 11:30 a.m., so I asked if there was any chance of an early check-in. To my surprise, they checked us in RIGHT AWAY at 11:30am with no extra charge! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that accommodated an early check-in that early without charging a fee. That alone started our stay off on the right foot! The gentleman who checked us in was such a delight. I wish I could remember his name because he deserves recognition! He was kind, welcoming, professional, and genuinely pleasant. What really confirmed the level of service for me was later at the pool, when another guest randomly mentioned how great the staff was during a general conversation. When other guests are saying the same thing without even being asked, you know the customer service is TOP-NOTCH. The rooms were very nice, and I absolutely loved the elegant rooftop and pool area. The hotel is also in a GREAT central location close to the airport and within a reasonable distance of Universal Studios, Santa Monica Beach, and other places we wanted to visit. My only disappointment was the carne asada tacos at butterfly restaurant at the pool- definitely needed more flavor and seasoning, but honestly, that was the only real downside of my stay. Overall, I was extremely pleased with this hotel.

Wonderful Hotel

The rooms were clean, excellent blackout curtains and shower! Also really loved the Chromecast in each room so we could stream from our personal devices. Highly recommend staying here!
