This looks a grand hotel, the arrival departure whilst busy was fine, staff throughout are very friendly and polite. Breakfast was plentiful, restaurants fine one night I dined in. Service is great, loved spa treatments so much, would love to give it 5 stars for the staff and service but it’s still seemingly going through an upgrade. It just feels a bit dated in parts, marks and lumps missing on walls, old decor etc.

Great central location. Nice hotel, no AC which was disappointing. The restaurant with non-ethnic food was booked both days I was there (weddings I think) and both times the staff recommended me eat there. They didn't seem to know it was booked. I usually love ethnic food (the other restaurant choices) but was looking for traditional English food. With the location though, it was an easy walk to many nice pubs. Side note: shower was terrible. I ended up washing my hair in the sink for lack of water pressure.

The staff as always are the best. The room was not so great. We had the noise from the train ( I think ) throughout the day stopping only late at night for a few hours. We have stayed at the hotel on many previous occasions and in all fairness the rooms we have previously been given have all been outstanding. So we were a bit disappointed this time.
