The purchased the most expensive room for the night I was staying in town. I arrived after 14 hours of driving across the country. I arrived to check in and asked if the pool was opened as I purchased this hotel because of location and having a pool. They stated they did not have the pool open and it’s in their website. As I purchased through Expedia, Expedia did not inform me of this information and the front desk said I can cancel without penalty but I needed to contact my 3rd party booking. After several days Expedia came back to say they were unable to reach them, and I am out the $300 for the night but they are crediting me $35 for the inconvenience. I have been using Expedia for years for all my travels as a travel worker and I am not happy with the service provided on either part of the companies.
