Stayed here a few times, the location is excellent being right on lord street. The hotel is a little tired, but then again the room price reflects that. If you are looking for cheap but comfortable accommodation and not planning to spend hours in your room and expecting all the mod cons, then this hotel ticks the boxes

Grand victorian now budget hotel. If you need somewhere to crash that is warm..clean sheets job done. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our window looked out onto a silly covered in years worth of pigeon poop.

Room was lovely and clean, only thing that ruined it was the noise from the clubs, we we're on the 1st floor right opposite the clubs that went on until after 4am. Would definitely recommend higher floor level next time.

3 night stay at this hotel. The room was warm, clean and spacious. Bedding and towels were plentiful. The hotel itself was a bit tired and worn but that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay 🙂

The staff were ok , when we checked in they just gave us the key , no directions to room etc . Room was clean and tidy , tea and coffee provided , bathroom clean and good towels . Comfy enough bed , breakfast was good , plenty of choice . We stayed Saturday night which was dreadful , there is a disco /pubs all along scarisbrick avenue next to our room , the noise was hideous , music blaring and bump bump bump until it finally stopped at 4.30 am , hence no sleep we complained but they were full and had no alternative rooms , on Sunday we asked to be moved which we were to a better room , lovey and quiet when we went to bed and 5.33 am a horrendous noise of some extraction fan or heating started up which was awful sounded like a train . 2 nights of disturbed sleep not good . Hotel is a bit run down but could be lovely , you get what you pay for . Shame the pool was shut too . Would we stay again . No we wouldn’t . Sefton council should be ashamed allowing that racket next to a hotel .

Sue on reception was absolutely fantastic. My only other comment is that the hotel used to have a gym and swimming pool, but these were apparently closed during the pandemic but never reopened.
