“Hottest day in May on record and the heating was on in my room. After speaking with staff three times and an hour and a half later, I was moved to another room. In spite of the wonderful advert featuring a restaurant I was told no kitchen tonight. Second room was very noisy overlooking the car park which doubles as a camping ground for motor homes, with ten present. No mattress cover and a very dirty mattress. “Pros:: Lovely old pub, AC worked well, great location, plenty of parking, big room and bathroom. Bed was hard, but that is personal preference. Old building is beautiful but with it comes low beams, uneven steps, etc. Con's: Breakfast seemed a bit disjointed (only 1 staff member on) kept having to find staff (same with check out) - not a huge issue as pub not that big. “Location was perfect for Tamworth Town, as soon as I arrive quite late in the evening I was greeted by a friendly smile and the WIFI code was given to me as a priority, perfect no one want to hunt or ask for the code.
