This hotel is steeped in history, and this history is clearly displayed throughout the hotel. There is a really interesting book in the communal area downstairs which is worth looking through. Although the hotel could do with a decor update, it was clean and comfortable, with lots of the original features which added to the character of the building. We didn’t have much interaction with any of the staff, so can’t really comment. The breakfasts we had were really nice and plentiful. There was a bacon, eggs, cereal, yoghurt, toast, cheeses and meats, as well as fruit juice, tea and coffee. The location to the lake was really good, and only a five minute walk, which leads to a lovely beach area to go for a swim. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the town which can be accessed by a lovely walk lakeside, or through a lovely residential area.

Historic building close to Leksand

We enjoyed our stay here - the building is lovely and historic, just outside town. As we arrived after 6pm check in was closed but the details were left on the desk. Breakfast was good, although the restaurant was closed in the evening. Paying was quite problematic if you don't have a Swedish bank account - had to transfer the balance on returning home!

Bullrigt med rum mot fläkten på kortsidan. Gick inte att sova med fönstret öppet pga bullret, och då blev det väldigt varmt. Tråkigt med så dålig dusch, där draperiet heller inte täcker ordentligt varför det kome rut på golvat vid toaletten tex så att nästa person blir blöt om fötterna. Fanns inget att svabba upp med heller. Underkänt på frukostsidan med gammal (?) bröd och få tillbehör samt riktigt blaskigt kaffe.
