Vacations Close To Lake Pontchartrain

Great location! Walking distance to Quarters and on Street car line for everything else. The staff is responsive and caring!

The executive suite was enormous

Incredibly helpful, kind and welcoming staff. The BEST part of my stay.

First time vistors to New Orleans and The French Quarter! The staff was over accommodating with EVERY request we had! Day or night they all were great! Rebecca in particular went above and beyond for us 3 ladies and made sure we were accommodated before going on to the next party. She also gave them the same service as well. The staff that checked my party in was ALSO Very accommodating as I was delayed by airport and very late getting in. I was assured all was taken care and access would not be an issue and they delivered as promised. Great location center of everything. Clean property, room and bathrooms. Thank you for helping us make this trip a Great Memory!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I understand that this is a historic hotel & that there are no elevators; however, no assistance was offered for carrying luggage upstairs, which made check-in difficult from the start. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was far below expectations. The room was extremely dusty, the walls were dirty with paint peeling in several areas, & the bathroom floor was lifting with visible mold between the cracks. The sink was also missing a strainer. To make matters worse, the a/c was not functioning properly, making the room very uncomfortable. We originally booked a four-night stay but ended up leaving after just one night because of the room conditions and the lack of on-site management. When I called the front desk, I was told that the manager would contact me the next morning at 7:00 a.m. I never received that call and had to follow up myself. While I understand that the hotel's refund policy may not have allowed for a refund, I believe the photos advertised online do not accurately represent the actual condition of the rooms. The marketing creates an expectation that simply was not met, which I found misleading. The hotel's history & aesthetic charm may appeal to some travelers, but the overall condition, cleanliness issues, maintenance concerns, & lack of customer service made for a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend staying here. Very disappointed.
