We stayed in the Lakewood building Saturday and Sunday night labor day weekend. We rented 2 queen bed loft that as advertised sleeps 6 people. There were 3 of us. Lakewood is an old building which was not remodeled. We did not like the room. This kind of old /ugly room should be priced at $300 most, not $700 per night. $700 is what we paid including taxes and resort fees. Yes, they charge $30 per day for resort usage which is on top of the room rate. The room sleeps 6 people but there is only one bathroom. Air conditioning is in the walls on thirst and second floors. A/C units are extremely loud, old and blow cold air right on our heads when sleeping. We had to turn them off because it was unbearable. There are spider webs on the beams. And we saw spiders. There are two old rocking chairs on the balcony. Not enough room for 6 people, just 2. Chair was so old that it broke. No one cleaned the room on Sunday. We asked for cleaning, but no one came. There was not enough towels in the room. Phone in the room doesn't work, no signal, no way to call reception. I wanted plates to warm up my leftovers, i had to walk to the restaurant to get them. They gave me tiny coffee plates and refused to give regular plates. Horrible. Check in/check out should be 3 and 12 not 4 and 11. Mattresses are cheap and pillows are stiff. No fan in the bathroom. Honestly, we got ripped off. We will never go there again.

The only staff member who provided hospitality was Marina in the 1878 restaurant. Other than that, the staff acted as if it was a burden for them to be working. No one looked happy to be there. The food at 1878 Restaurant was awesome. The resort is run down. Not clean, needing repair, bad smells, chipped paint, and stains. They bill you as if it's a 5 diamond hotel but feels like a run down motel. The landscaping seemed like it was done by someone who cares. Never again will we stay there.

The 1878 restaurant was fantastic! Our room was clean and the rockers on the patio was a nice touch. The grounds were very well cared for and maintained. Check-in and out was seamless.

The Lakeside part of the resort is tucked away from the rest, but we enjoyed having a quiet pool right there. It’s very dated, but well maintained. There are good enough amenities onsite, but the activities and staff involvement could definitely be better. You have to prompt staff and be extremely specific with what you are looking for in order to get anything. For example, despite there being a schedule of activities to participate in, there was never anything going on. Music schedules were off and there was no notice so we had to figure it out on our own. There was supposed to be food and beverage service at the main pool, but there was not. Do not expect anyone to go above and beyond and you will be content. The views were beautiful! Food was ok. Overall not a bad place to stay at all for the price. I think if staff was more involved and less passive it would be much more pleasurable and we would have spent more time and money on site than we did.

The location of the hotel is beautiful. We were disappointed that our room seemed to be missing furniture. Neither side of our king bed had a nightstand, and there was a wide open space where a kitchen table should have been. The bathtub would not plug, and the boxspring mattress was uncomfortable.

The staff was great! Specifically the young woman who checked us in (4 pm on 8/13) forgot her name but she was amazing! Also a man named Francisco? I think? Beautiful room looking at the lake. The kids loved the playroom activities. Now for the less great stuff…. Save your money on food outside. The food here is horrible and expensive. We got super old stale fries, nachos with maybe 3-4 pieces of meat, and cold wings. After that we only ordered food from outside the resort. Also the fire alarm randomly went off after I blow dryer my hair.. the smoke detectors are super sensitive (I’d assume because there’s SO many people smoking here… also a huge turn off while staying with an infant. Even the staff took smoke breaks by the buildings. I’d stay here again but I’d definitely plan on something else for food.

We love LakeLawn, staff was kind. Room cleanliness was lacking this trip. We had a large stain on the carpet and asked multiple times for it to be cleaned before it was handled. We still love the resort, but would like for it to be a bit cleaner!
