We stayed one night and wish we’d had a lot more time. The bed was super comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The staff were excellent. We ate at the pub for dinner (fantastic!) and the cafe for breakfast (also fantastic!). Definitely recommend the Riverside Inn.

Liked: Staff & service
Lovely room with kind staff. Loved the deck overlooking the river. Saw a bear swim across the river in the distance. Coffee and pub/restaurant available. Very comfortable?
The hotel is near and adjacent to the river but not directly beside it. The venting fan's noise and smells from the restaurent may be an issue before midnight if your room is close to them. eg. Room 6. But the hotel room was clean, the bed comfortable, the pub has a nice deck looking at the river, the pub food is good, and the staff were pleasant. It is an easy walk to view the river and to Ed's Coffeehouse (local and good.) Furter on are restaurants we did not check out.
This property is a great location in central Cowichan Lake. The check-in was somewhat limited hours and done through the pub. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. I would say I found the price high relative to the size of the room and the fact there's no additional amenities for them to cover. But we also came during high season.
The staff-Ashley, was really sweet. The bed was comfortable. The hot water is on a timer so hard to get a warm shower. The place had very few plug ins that were accessible for phone chargers, etc.
The place really needs updated. But Ashley was great.
If you’re planing to fish for brown trout in the Cowichan River, the Inn is a fantastic place to stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the pub and cafe, pool tables to converse with the locals, and great pillows and bedding. I was truly impressed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The Riverside Inn was great and excellent value. It is very much a help yourself sort of place as the reception wasn’t manned when we arrived, but the staff in the pub had been given our room key, which was good. The room is comfortable and equipped with coffee making things. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We ate in the pub and the food was very tasty and the pub staff super friendly and helpful. For a budget priced stay we thought it was great value and would stay again!
Room with King size bed was great, other than being located above the bar/pub. We could hear and feel the bass sounds from the music. Luckily we were tired enough and the music did not go on long into the night. I would not recommend this room during the busy summer nights.
We had a wonderful stay over the weekend. The staff went above and beyond to make our “staycation” just what we were looking for. Simple, comfortable, homey hospitality.
All staff were great, both at front desk and in the pub.
I guess the only thing I might update is that the room we booked was listed as having a kitchenette, but there was no cooktop. I suppose a micorwave sorta counts, but I had brought a steak to cook! ;)
Nice balcony overlooking the river. Might get an umbrella out there, or maybe an awning for bit of shade.
Otherwise, room 18 was great.
