Weekend Skiing With Friends

Nice, comfortable hotel, just a few minutes easy walk into the town. Comfortable beds in clean rooms, and a decent sized bathroom. Breakfast options were good, with some really nice cheeses and bread, along with cereals, pastries, etc. Reception staff were very helpful, both before our trip and during our stay.

Lovely and charming hotel

Lovely, charming hotel close to the centre of town. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the ability to use the facilities in the connected hotel Carlina was a welcome bonus. Breakfast was good, with lots of local produce of good quality. The best thing about Hotel Beaulieu is the staff, who were very welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to help us. We had complicated travel arrangements which meant a very late arrival but the staff managed to accommodate us and even included a very charming welcome note. These little touches were much appreciated and elevated our stay above a standard hotel stay.

Pros: charming old hotel with a cozy feel and polite staff Cons: not a great option for folks with mobility issues; parking lot runs out of space by 8-9 pm on busy days and you have to either pay 15 euro for underground parking at hotel or park for free in town and walk back uphill for 5-10 mins; breakfast room too small and unpleasantly packed on busy days; breakfast quite unhealthy (all sweet & saturated fats) although they are large and buffet style; our room was small and located far away from elevator through a maze of hallways; most bathrooms appear to have very tall bathtubs which are difficult to get into if you're injured (can ask for room with shower but they are limited in number); located in an area surrounded by hotels and not much else commercially around; up a steep incline above the city center (this is true for most of Clusaz and something to be aware of); Clusaz itself does not have much in terms of a community feel/athmosphere and there were road closures in the city for biking/car racing events; unusually large spiders lurking around the property
