“Great hotel in a great location, but the air conditioning in the room did not work properly. Room was 80 to 85 degree everyday making it nearly impossible to sleep. I ended up purchasing fans to help with the hot room. Staff tried resetting system, but clearly there is a bigger problem.”

“The view from the room is lovely. The kitchen has the basics, plenty for breakfast and lunch. Without a car, there are many, many steps from the town center to the apartment. The landlord was exceptionally knowledgeable. Our ferry was cancel because of wind. She drove us across the island to the port where the car ferry was running. ”

“We had a lovely stay at Casa Benita, the room was lovely and the staff was very attentive. The room breakfast was super generous and served as an alarm service as well. Everything in Hvar town is on walking distance from the hotel, but the treck back is a little bit tiring since it’s uphill. If you are ariving or leaving by ferry, make sure to contact them to help you arrange transport since cars can’t get near the port.”

“This is a great apartment! Very clean, private courtyard, cute kitchen, and great location. But Marija is what made the stay perfect, with lots of recommendations and advice. She is a terrific host. Old town Hvar is wonderful and this is right inside it. So many restaurants and beaches and not enough time! I had a lovely stay here.”

“Beautiful home on the hill with an infinity pool overlooking a private bay. This is a little piece of paradise outside the noise and the hustle and bustle of Hvar town, but only a 10 min drive away. The owner, Tony, is very friendly and accommodating and will drive you to town for 13 euros each way. It is about a 45 minute walk. Very secluded and peaceful! Perfect for a romantic get away or for families, but come prepared as there is nothing near by but 2 quite pricey restaurants. ”

Everything was high tech and top quality, and the location was unbeatable, just steps away from the ferry port and the main attractions in the island. Breakfast was great, and service fantastic, including awesome recommendations for tour guides and restaurants. Overall, an outstanding experience in Hvar, and could not recommend Villa Porta Maestra enough.”
