Missing this place already, lovely welcome. Fab food. Aloe massage on the white sandy beach 2 mins away after my morning swim. All the busyness of Chaweng at the other end of the lane, include Pride bar or Alpha gay resort a ten minute walk. In the room I couldn’t hear a thing other than the occasional plane. Even liked the retro decor. At £15 a night with an Expedia discount, this was incredible value for money given the location.

Amazing stay in a lovely quiet family run hotel away from the noise of Chaweng. We were upgraded to a premium room by the owner which was such a lovely gesture and showed how well the family look after their guests. We loved breakfast and got it at the hotel most mornings for a great price. Pool was lovely and warm and was a highlight l.

We have visited Rattana many times and are always impressed by the kindness and welcome from the family and all the staff. A little oasis , with a lovely pool, tucked away between the beach and the main street. Spotlessly clean. Amazing food and service.

Excellent value for money property. Pool was quiet, lovely gardens and clean, sun-beds need cushions to be more comfortable. Limited facilities in rooms but they were adequate and clean. Staff were lovely and helpful. Cheap restaurant with good food plus a small shop. This is a very economical resort and you pay for what you get so don’t expect a high end resort at a budget price.

I spent 6 nights at Rattana Guesthouse in June 2026. It was very peaceful and restful, As I had been just previously 2 weeks on holiday on another continent on a hectic schedule, I found Rattana the perfect place to relax and enjoy the no-rush half of my holiday. The staff were very polite and friendly and the main host (I've forgotten her name!) was very helpful and has a good to excellent level of English that made the experience easier for me as I've only learned a few simple words of Thai. My ground floor room, near the pool, was a standard and was clean with a comfortable bed. I used the pool 4 or 5 times. As it was low season, there were not many guests to compete for the lounge chairs around the pool edge. This suited me. I used the guesthouse restaurant several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service was good and the food was tasty. While Chaweng is generally busy and noisy, the position of this place means you don't get the street noise, so it's generally quiet. As construction appears to have started on the large block of land on the reception / restaurant side of the guest house I am happy it was only slow pile driving I heard occasionally during business hours and didn't disturb the overall tranquil vibe. I would have no hesitation booking a stay at Rattana l should I visit Koh Samui again.

The location is great. Beach,restaurants, nightlife, travel,info..everything within a few minutes walk. Swimming pool on site. Staff are delightful...so friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced. We simply couldn't have enjoyed are stay any more. Even the mosquitoes left us alone.

The staff were polite and friendly. The apartments are in lovely surroundings with exotic plants and nice swimming pool. The apartment was ok but the small wardrobe was useless for more than 1 person..quite a few mosquitoes around but that is un-avoidable ..All in all we will probably return next year

The staff at Rattana house are some of the best I’ve seen. So kind, patient and willing to help with any questions. The location is beautiful with an amazing garden full of colour. Can hear birds in the morning and have a quiet start to your day. The restaurant at the entrance is great for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Excellent, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, tranquil location. Fabulous little bar and snack bar open throughout the day and early evening. Wonderful choice of delicious food at very good prices. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I left my phone in the taxi on the way to the ferry. Kayee was so helpful in arranging for a taxi courier to drive it back to the port for us. We cannot thank them enough. Highly recommended.

This place was exactly what we wanted, a room with the pool outside it but less than a 2 min walk to the beach. A one minute walk to the main road. The room had excellent AC, I asked for a bed topper and it was so comfortable! The mother daughter owners were excellent. They had food onsite which was delicious and a little store in case you needed anything ! We were so happy we stayed here as a mother/ daughter from Canada.

Hi this hotel was shocking we checked in and checked out was infested with bugs ants and over things the superior room was not even as good as a cheap hostel full complained and got no refund shocking experience
