Pleasant place to stay

Lovely location. We were given a room in the courtyard, nicely decorated with simple furnishings. Tea,coffee and milk provided but no bottled water, which would usually be expected. The bathroom was adequate but the shower grouting was a bit grim. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service, the beer garden was lovely.

Wonderful stay. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The red room was so nice that we stayed in the. It would benefit from some drawers for you to put items in everything had to go at the bottom of the wardrobe with the shoes underneath. The bed is superking and was really comfortable but the pillows were not great they were standard size and if they upgraded them to feather king size pillows and somewhere to put smaller items the room would be perfect. The restaurant was really good. The chefs deserve a special mention. Beautiful food. Will definitely return.

Fabulous Location and great food

Slow check, First 2 staff could not help and waited for a third. Breakfast fees increased from £12 to £15 since time of booking so declined breakfast. Otherwise food good, enjoyed our evening meal. Lighting in room was poor only one bedside light could have done with a light either side. The pub has a fabulous location and great grounds and parking facilities.

Exceptional food, very good service.

Lovely pub and hotel. Had to book early if you wanted a meal. Food though exceptional. Having to decide what you wanted for breakfast on Sunday the night before was a bit of a pain and breakfast being served at weekends from 8.30 was too late for me as i was working. And had to go without. I will though definately be staying here again.

A hidden gem which I hope won’t change.

Quintessentially English and slightly faded charm. In a really small Norfolk village, slightly cut off. Peaceful. Food excellent. Could do with some updating of bathroom. Very clean everywhere. A perfect place to recharge the batteries. I will be back… maybe take my bicycle next time.. fabulous part of Norfolk for cycling.

Freezing room and water

Room was freezing cold, bed uncomfortable that left me with a bad back and neck all day and zero hot water. Checked out before breakfast because I just wanted to leave. The evening meal the night before was lovely except the sugar on my creme brulle was a little too done.

Could have been better

The hotel is located in a lovely little village. However, the customer service did not match the quality of the property. While I understand that mistakes happen, how they are addressed makes a significant difference. I had to leave the hotel early during my stay, and the hot water was not working. Starting my busy day in London with a cold shower at 5:00 AM was not ideal. Although the water was fixed by the time I returned, there was no offer of compensation or even a complimentary hot meal after a long day. Additionally, the shower cubicle in my room was full of mold, which surprised me, as I have never encountered such a thing in a hotel before. The staff were friendly enough, but I would recommend looking elsewhere before booking here, especially paying £110 a night.

Had a great time.

Loved the place. It was right next door to Oxburgh Hall where we wanted to visit. The weather was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Staff were attentive and the breakfast was probably the best we've had. Couldn't finish it all. It was very tasty. The only criticism we have and it's something that would take very little to rectify was the housekeeping side of things. Noticed a few cobwebs hanging from the ceiling as well as cobwebs in thee radiator. The area at the back of the bed was also quite dusty. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up which obviously didn't bother the Mrs as much but when I went to the toilet I had to hold it up with my hand. The last thing was the shower head. It looked like it needed a good clean. For all the negatives these wouldn't stop us staying there again. We had a great couple of nights sleep, the place was pretty as a picture with lovely grounds and in an area steeped in history. Overall a very positive visit.

We absolutely loved our room and it had a wonderful comfortable bed and it was very quiet despite being a pub. The staff that we met were pleasant and helpful. We were disappointed with the food, we did not feel that either the dinner or breakfast that we had represented value for money. I ordered porridge in the morning and it was lukewarm and my husbands full English looked more like a half English. We stayed for 3 nights and needless to say we only had one dinner and one breakfast at the hotel.
