The hotel is just outside city center with free parking. The service is great. They have standard breakfast. There is also a pantry with fridge.

Do not let the exterior fool you. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are relatively spacious compared to other European hotel rooms, you have a private bath, there's no a/c but the windows open and there's a fan. The breakfast buffet was minimalist, but there is a communal kitchen to which you have access 24/7. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is located a block from a grocery store and less than a mile from Gamla Stan. The hostess is incredibly friendly. I cannot say enough good things about our stay there.

This property suited our needs for an overnight stay. Parking was easy and convenient. They offered a breakfast buffet in the morning that was nice. The room was clean, as was the property. We never interacted with anyone, so if we had any questions, it might have been difficult. The area around the hotel seemed commercial, but we were just there for an overnight stay for nearby visit.

Basic and No-frills Hotel

Kalmar Hotell is a no-frill and basic hotel. During my check-in there was no one at the reception. Rather, I was sent instruction on how to open the main door and where to pick up the key. The hotel room is also very simple, clean and basic (tea and coffee is complementary). The breakfast however leaves a lot to be desired. The bread is old and there is not much of an option. The breakfast buffet is very basic and offers mainly cold items. It is a hotel you select if you just want a place to sleep. Location wise it is outside the main city hub, hence it lacks the vibe and atmosphere of other city hotels.

We did not receive hotel entry code. A guest eventually let us in once he clarified our name. Very poor breakfast selection. In the back of a light industrial area. There is a bus on main road 403 2 stops into town or 15 min walk. Parking limited in town.

Ønsker du å bo på et hotell litt utenfor sentrum, er dette perfekt. Hotellet er ubetjent etter frokost, men har fasiliteter som kjøkken med kjøl og frys og komfyr. Frokosten er enkel, men mer enn nok. Gratis parkering og det er også tilgang til elbillader. Vi er fornøyd og har overnattet dere flere ganger.
