The hotel is absolutely stunning. Views are great. Rooms were so nostalgic I loved it. Bed was comfortable. Pool was great too. Only thing I’d say is don’t expect a big breakfast its very light. Just eggs and a bread variety, fruit and yogurt. Overall a great place to stay.

CC is a national treasure. Its location on the West Bank of the St. John’s River and the shade of the massive old Live Oak trees help keep the outside cool in the hot summers of Northern Florida. The staff are very proud of the place and ensure that the guests are well taken care of, as well as the building and grounds. Keep in mind that this hotel is 103 years old, and it does show in some areas. However, the water pressure and heat in the showers are very good, the rooms are clean and well maintained, the grounds are exceptional and access is nearly effortless. The dinning is elegant, the food was delicious and professionally prepared, service was cordial, knowledgable and reliable. Oh yeah, the three pools and 7 tennis courts were very enjoyable. Bottom line: I recommend the Club Continental to anyone staying within an hour of it. You will not be disappointed.

We went for a family wedding so stayed at the Club Continental after the reception. The wedding was beautiful at another church and the wedding reception at the Club Continental was beautiful. It is not like a regular hotel. First of all, there are no elevators which I did not know. You go in one door to get your key and sign papers with 2 women at a desk behind a door. Then you go out and to get to our room, we had to go outside around the corner, up the stairs, down the stairs to get to our room on the river and to get back out, you have to again go upstairs, then downstairs. The room itself was ok. The bed was comfortable and the view was nice, but the sliding glass door did not lock which to us was a safety concern. The shower had no hot water at all so when we wanted to shower, the water was cold. The coffee pot was not working properly where we had to continuously hold the on/off button to have it brew. The wood floors were dirty as my feet were black after walking on them. The continental breakfast was ok. The girl made the perfect omelet, though we had to search for silverware, napkins after we had asked. The breakfast is pretty simple, just an egg omelet, bagel, yogurt and fruit. No sausage, no potatoes, no white or wheat bread. It took us 3 hours to drive there, paid 231.00 for total disappointment of the room and service. There are no hotel personnel to check out so I just dropped off my key where it says to in the box. We definitely won't ever stay there again.

This is a very special place. It is a perfect place to set down your worries and rest. The food is amazing!!!!!! I highly recommend eating on site!!!!
