Vacations Close To Downtown Issaquah

We had never been to Seattle before and were travelling there to go on our first Cruise Ship ever. We had a lot of questions about how to get from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to the cruise ship and the Mediterranean Inn was fully prepared with all the answers. I called the hotel before leaving for our trip and they gave me the number of a Town Car Service to pick us up from the airport and take us to the hotel. The car arrived within 5 minutes of my call and went directly to hotel. The next day the hotel had a shuttle service available for transport to the various cruise ship lines. We were there in no time and were so grateful for these services. We also loved the hotel roof top access which gave us a great view of Seattle. The front desk staff also gave us a map of Seattle and pointed out how we could walk to the water front. We had gotten up early and ended up walking along the lovely parks along the water front and even walked to Pike Place and then back to the hotel before leaving for the Cruise Ship. For being in Seattle such a short time, we were able to see quite a lot! Great trip!

The useful amenity was the late check-out. The room was clean enough, but smelled like cat pee right as you enter, which diminishes one's sense of cleanliness. Location is good, a half mile walk from Pike Place, the Waterfront and ferry landing, and a half-mile walk in the other direction to the Space Needle, Chihuly museum, and Seattle Center. We felt safe enough, but there are many homeless people on the streets in that neighborhood, and an armed guard at the hotel door after 10pm.

The one bedroom with kitchen was perfect for our needs. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The location, one block from Pike market was also ideal. Other reviewers said it was noisy and the air-conditioner wasn't working but our room was quiet and the HVAC was fine. Although the gym wasn't fancy ( one elliptical, running and cycle machine) it provided enough for a good workout. Here's why I didnt give it a higher rating: 1. When we arrived there was sawdust on the floor outside our room and under the door. It was still there when we left 6 days later. Im not sure what they were drilling but I thought it would have been vacuumed by then. 2. I expect any listed amenities to be fixed or working. The TV in our bedroom never worked. We reported that upon arrival and the staff did what the could but it was beyond their control. 3.A washer and dryer was listed as an amenity but it didnt work. A washer and dryer was avaliable on our floor at cost. If they are going to charge for laundry, they should mention it in the listing or reimburse you for use. I would still recommend this facility because these were minor issues

If you want simple, this is the place to stay. There’s no outlet in the bathroom to plug in your curling iron. Some parts are very old. Some parts are newer. They do have USB ports next to the bed, which was nice. The staff was impeccable. They were amazing, but the place is old, semi updated and if you’re not into fancy, and you like to be in the thick of everything, this is a good place to stay Guillermo the desk manager was outstanding. I cannot say enough, good things about him.
