A really lovely place to stay in Inveraray. Very good pub and restaurant. The house whisky was so good I took home 2 bottles. There are a variety of different rooms, some in the main building others in adjacent buildings and some with spectacular views across the loch. The standalone tub was a nice amenity, which I did not have the time to enjoy.

This is a really special place. The new owner was very friendly and the restaurant was quite an experience. The bar was mixed with tourists and locals. I don’t think I’ll ever forget my night there. Very unique spot. Worth the price!

Such a cute little town and amazing staff. Was driving around Scotland and stayed one night in Inverary. Had a lovely dinner in The Pub after check-in and watched some World Cup with the best Guinness Pie I have ever had. The staff was super friendly at check-in, at the pub, at breakfast, and check-out. Perfect location right on "the strip" of all the shops within walking distance of Inverary Castle. Cool hotel with lots of character. The only issue was a few large flies getting in the room, but this was likely the summer weather and we had this same issue at a few other hotels needed windows open for ventilation. Bathroom was spacious and would definitely stay here again!

Sometimes it's the little kindnesses, turns of phrase, real interest shown that make a difference. Sometimes it's the quaint quality of furnishings, fittings, space and decor, at other times it is generous breakfasts of seriously delicious food, or a basket of really good snacks.. . The George gave us all this, with easy parking in an elegant small lochside town of interest and style. Top class - with thanks

The George was brilliant. We were travelling to Islay and it was intended as a stop off. We loved it! From the moment of our arrival, welcome from the staff was great, rooms lovely and bar / restaurant excellent. Food was superb. I can only recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.

A lovely inn with very friendly staff in a great location on the high street in Inveraray. Our room was a good size and very comfortable, we had breakfast included which was delicious with a wide range of options. The hotel has a couple of different bars and it was very hot weather during our stay but the pub garden was cool and so was our room. We only had dinner once at the hotel, which was fine, but there are plenty of other options locally for good food (Saffron nearby is excellent). There are lots of good walks in and around Inveraray as well as the castle to visit which has beautiful gardens. It’s a great base to see Argyle and the Highlands.

Great hotel / pub in Inverary. We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way to Islay, and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and were great in dealing with my wife’s Coeliac Disease dietary needs (couple of the staff are Coeliacs but all staff were knowledgeable). We also had our Black Labrador with us and again he was welcomed and accommodated without issue. It’s rare to find places that cater for both Coeliacs and Dogs :-) Our room was large and well furnished, although maybe a little dated. The food and drink were excellent and all meals were really enjoyable experiences. The bar area has a great atmosphere, happily busy and with music some nights, whilst the conservatory area was great for breakfast. The new owners and staff are doing many things right and we had a great stay. Would highly recommend.

We were fortunate to have booked our 2 night stay in Inveraray at The George Hotel. Our room was upgraded to allow a large group of ladies to have rooms near each other. We truly lucked out. The room was beautiful, quiet and lovely water views. Every member of the staff was amazing at making us feel welcomes and like long friends. Yule even shared one of his cocktail recipes with us. We highly recommend you stay at The George Hotel if you will be in the area.

Fantastic Georgian Inn on Main Street in Inverary. Big comfortable beds with nice clean rooms/bathrooms. Lovely assortment of hot and cold breakfasts and a good range of dinner menu. Really friendly and helpful staff. Our room overlooked Main Street and we were warned that a quiet room couldn’t be guaranteed as there was a wedding when we stayed. It was a little noisy late into the night, so take some ear plugs just in case!!
