They just need to upgrade the room, the shower room. And the windows need to be clean on the outside.

The hotel was far from any other businesses or properties. Our first and second breakfasts were very good, but it went down hill after that. There was a definite decline in the food preparation. The rooms were passable and housekeeping did make every attempt to keep them clean. You cannot drink the tap water so we had to find a market to buy bottled water. The rooms were definitely showing signs of wear and the hotel has seen better days. Updates are severely needed. We had reservations for 10 days, but due to weather conditions all tour activities were cancelled, so we changed our flight reservation and came home four days earlier. On the plus side, there was a recreational park near by that had various food vending shacks and we found one that had the best tacos. We were also able to discover a restaurant about 6 or 7 blocks away so we went there for dinner one night. The Italian food was outstanding, but we could have order just one dish for the two of us. Unfortunately our trip to Balize City was an experience, but we would not go there again. If you want to go to Balize, stay at one of the cayes.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly and stay was very pleasant. I would recommend staying there.
