“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. “The staff from the beginning were always very friendly and helpful and provided very useful tips which improved our holiday experience. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The coffee provided in the room and at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast choices were very good and the quality of the breakfast and cakes were excellent. I looked forward each morning to it. The location was ideal as it is on a quiet road but very near the train station and main shops etc.”

“We had a fabulous 2 nights stay at the hotel, and we had a room with a hot tub which was fantastic. The spa facilities were excellent, very relaxing and well maintained. We had breakfast and dinner on both days which again was excellent, plenty of choice. All staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as it was.
