The room was very spacious but had a strong odor; the daily resort fee was supposed to include a box of chocolate truffles, but the hotel was out of them. The air conditioning worked great, but the water did not get very hot in the shower. The location of the hotel is wonderful and close to restaurants, bars, and it's right on the beach.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The property has a wonderful view and many restaurants within walking distance. The only downside is that it sits next to a public park. This is out of the resort’s control, but from time to time you get loud music from cars etc.

This was a spontaneous getaway for me and my teenager. Highly recommend an ocean front room. Beach advisory so unable to swim in imperial Beach, but that is not the fault of the hotel. It was still lovely to be able to sit on our balcony and listen to the waves and watch the sunset. Also awesome to have a pool and a hot tub to do that from. The on-site restaurant was delicious and my son declared the waffles the best ones he’s ever had. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And there’s a little basketball court right beside the place and they keep basketballs at the front desk, which was awesome for my basketball loving teen.

We had a wonderful stay at Pier South Resort in Imperial Beach! You really can't beat being directly on the water with such gorgeous views. We booked very last minute after unexpectedly needing to leave another hotel, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They responded to my messages incredibly quickly and even allowed us early access to our room so we could get ready for a wedding that evening. We were so appreciative of how easy they made everything for us. Having lived in Imperial Beach many years ago, it was also really special to be back somewhere that felt so familiar. The resort has wonderful amenities, including complimentary happy hour treats and a beverage, morning yoga on site, and delicious food at the restaurant. There are also amazing, inexpensive tacos right next door! We had no trouble finding parking on the nearby side streets, and being able to walk the beach every morning was a dream. Thank you to the staff at Pier South for turning an unexpected change in plans into such a memorable stay. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back!

This hotel is a step away from the beach!! Enjoy the view of IB from your balcony,the restaurant or the pool!! This hotel is in the best location!! Close to everything and the staff is wonderful!!

The best part of this stay was the staff and the view. Overall I didn’t find this stay very accommodating. There was a huge crack in the mirror glass in the living room, which I reported to the front desk immediately. They said they were aware and that it had happened the day before and would be repaired soon. This was nerve wracking because I was traveling with children and was concerned they could get injured on it. The beach was closed due to water pollution which made it inconvenient since we had to drive to neighboring beaches to actually get in the water. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The additional $30/day valet charge was a bit excessive in my opinion, given there’s already a $30/day resort fee. We rented a vehicle to commute and the idea of handing over the keys to a vehicle I don’t own but I’m liable for was unsettling. The alternative is to find street parking. There was some sort of local car show event that shut down the main road and any street parking was prohibited, still the hotel was not accommodating to this $30 charge and we had to find parking in the residential neighborhood. I appreciate that the staff was kind and responsive if we called down for towels/laundry bags. I don't feel like I would recommend this hotel to a loved one.

The room was large. It has a living room and bedroom. Every room has a beach view. The amenities were great. We took the bikes on a very long ride to Coronado. They have wagons with beach chairs, cooler and volleyball you can checkout. Right next door is a great outdoor workout facility, basketball court and volleyball. There was hardly anybody at the beach. I felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. There was no swimming at the beach because of a sewage leak.

We had a room with a balcony. It had a perfect view of the ocean and we slept with the door open all night so we could listen to the ocean. Also the restaurant in the hotel has an excellent menu. Loved every meal we had.
