You get what you pay for. Albany Hotel is a budget hotel so I didn’t have high expectations. I was happy with my room and the parking which is available at the back. Very helpful staff as well.

Don’t come here expecting the Ritz - but we were very grateful to find a room that could accommodate 4 during Brighton Pride at the last minute. Yes carpets are threadbare, yes the furniture is missing handles. But (except during pride weekend) this would be a cost effective and well located spot to sleep in. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was run down but clean. It entirely suited our purposes - imagine a much friendlier and slightly shabbier Fawlty Towers.

The staff were particularly helpful and friendly from arrival to departure, helping us with several requests and questions throughout our stay. Really helpful and polite. It’s located close to the town of Hove and a short walk to the beautiful beach where we sat and enjoyed lunch. It’s an older property so don’t expect pish-button, modern technology. There were no hangers in our empty wardrobe but I’m sure the staff could’ve provided some if we’d asked. Our room was very warm and there’s obviously no air conditioning but a small fan would’ve been most welcome. Tea and coffee was provided in the room so we were grateful for that. No bath mat provided so be careful as you step out of the shower as the floor can be slippery. The rear of the property desperately needs a tidy as it looks unkempt and particularly run down, although we’d asked for a quiet room and appreciated it being located where it was. Overall, a pleasant stay in a nice area with the beach and shops nearby. Try the local butchers shop for snacks and pies, it’s absolutely lovely. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from Hove station to the hotel and not uphill at all, after which friendly, helpful staff took care of us. Thank you to each of them.

The hotel was a shambles I was moved to 3 different rooms due to broken TV with no remote, the next room had no curtains in the bathroom looking out onto the street. The last room I saw had a shower that didn't work. I was then moved to another hotel in the same company, This was better but barely, dirty hallways stained carpets and the Foyer smelt like sewage.

No parking as advertised. Staff were very casual - often sat on their phones on the sofa round the corner from the front desk. There was nowhere to hang the shower hose. It was just loose over the bath. They did fix it once I told them, but I would've expected it to have been addressed before my arrival. The windows were a bit broken and there was pigeon mess all over the sills. The view was very derelict. Overall it was ok for a place to lay my head on a work trip, but there's plenty of room for improvement. If the staff occupied their time by checking rooms/corridors for maintenance issues or cleaning rather than sitting on the somewhat dilapidated sofas in the lobby, they would do much better.

Pro’s. The room was very large The beds were clean and comfortable enough for a couple of nights. The towels were clean The bathroom was clean The staff were really friendly and helpful The parking was a bit expensive but right behind the hotel so useful. The hotel was close to the seafront The Wi-Fi was fine Con’s The carpet was filthy. Stained and obviously very old. Some of the plug sockets didn’t work The furniture was very old and a bit tatty There was a hole in the bathroom floor The bath had no plug. The window in the bathroom looked old and tatty. Overall, for a couple of nights for £100 the hotel was fine. The staff were really helpful and friendly. If the carpet was replaced and the owners did a trip to ikea for some new furniture and curtains, it would be a good place to stay.

The room was acceptable but could do with a new curtain rail. We had to ask for assistance as we were frightened to open and close the curtains. Also the ceiling in the bathroom was badly stained. So there's room for improvement. The beds were comfortable. Okay for a short visit.

Hotel was good for the price. Mattress wasn't overly comfortable, shower wasn't very good, one of the lights wasn't working. Wasn't there all that much so these issues weren't that inconvenient. I'd stay there again for the value for money.

Aussen Fein - innen eher schummerig

Von aussen ganz nett, innen sieht man das Alter des Gebäude. Das ganze Hotel ist mit roten Plüschteppichen ausgelegt - diese machen alles etwas schummerig und der Geruch ist eher unangenehm. Der Empfang ist sehr hilfreich und immer vor Ort. Essen oder Trinken kann man nur in den nahegelegenen Restaurants und Bars.

The whole place smelled like weed. The room and bathroom were old and didn't feel clean. There was no room cleaning during our stay. The only saving gracs was that the bed was clean and very comfortable.
