“Great choice for exploring Yorkshire Three Peaks & Settle to Carlisle Railway. Spacious, well-equipped cottage in quiet location with excellent accommodation for living and sleeping. Attractive small garden for relaxing after our days walking in heatwave conditions. Could not find any property information pack nor operate Bose music system. No instructions for used bedding or bins. Would it be too much trouble to provide one ~20p dishwasher tab per day?”

“Brand new renovated cottage, in the old bunker house, absolutely ideal for 2 guests with breakfast included. Clean , perfect food & service, what else do you need.”

“Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...

“The Wheatsheaf is a typical pub hotel. Clean rooms with friendly staff. Breakfast was individually cooked to order and was very good.”

“Very comfortable bed and very clean linens. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Fantastic location just outside Settle. Would stay here again. New carpet and removing visible mould from grouting in shower as well as dog free rooms would have made this a 5 star stay.”

“We had a nice stay here. The only bug bear was that there was not much fruit at breakfast. I do not eat fry ups in the morning. The only fruit was apples. Maybe a dish of mixed fruit or bananas would have been nice. The staff were really pleasant and the hotel itself was fine for our 2-day stay. The bedroom could have been a little bit more updated, paint off in most places, the en-suite was old fashioned, could be done up more modern really.”

“The property was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was a combination of a buffet and cooked to order. There was a good choice and plentiful. Hawes itself suits adults better than children although the Wensleydale Cheesery is good for all ages.”

“My husband and I stayed two nights in June while exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The location is excellent, in a quintessential Dales village, with a number of fun shops and eateries. The room was simply furnished but perfectly adequate. Be aware there are a number of steps, and the tub/shower is deep to step into, so not a good choice if you have accessibility issues.”
