I enjoyed my one-night stay with my girlfriend at this iconic historic hotel. It was nice to feel like we were living back in the early 1900's. The staff was friendly and the room was nice for being so old. It has A/C but does not have a bathroom fan so it gets foggy and humid in the room. There was plenty of parking. The hotel is literally next to a waterfall so that makes for the most ideal scenery and setting for a couple's night.

Hotel is lovely, the rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable bed. We ate at the Hotel Bar which had a great menu. Our bill was about $257 before tip. In hindsight should not have tipped 20%. The bartender did not fill the shot glass when making the drinks. We ordered 3 Manhattans at $33 each glasses not full. The cosmo was filled to the normal lip of the glass though. Our bottle of Mt Hood Chardonnay was less than the 3 Manhattans.

One of the reasonable rates in the area and we knew it was historical so we knew it was older so we were afraid ot would be dated. We were pleasantly surprised to find modern amenities while still maintaining the history. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly staff. Wonderful bar and breakfast in the morning. We were upgraded to a river view and slept with the windows open listening to the on site waterfall and woke to a glorious gorge sunrise.

This historic hotel is in an epic location above the Columbia Gorge with amazing views! The staff was absolutely amazing. Michelle at the front desk was the sweetest ever! Rooms are beautifully decorated as is the parlor and main dining room. Just a wonderful experience for the price!

Cool, historic hotel w one of the oldest elevators in the world, lol…overlooking the Columbia and a waterfall from the property down to the river. Great views, rooms are rustic & everything’s functional. Breakfast was great. Only complaint was that they were rigid /cold about 11:00 am checkout …c’mon!?
