“This was not a B&B as advertised. This was a grim, empty beach house where the owner, who lived an hour away, remotely answered the doorbell to tell guest how to find their keys. The only good thing to say about it was that the owner refunded my money promptly when I frantically was able to find proper accommodations.”

“Peter and Sheila were wonderful hosts. They gave us ideas of where to eat and places to see. Breakfast was very good and enjoyable with them providing information about the area. If we return to the Northumberland area we will definitely return there to stay again.”

“The property was close to Bamburgh Castle and Farne Islands that is great in summer for Puffins. We were given the smallest double bed room even though we booked a proper queen room that were available.”

“This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night.”

“A lovely hotel in the heart of Berwick. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean.”

“The room was clean but small, coffee and tea were provided but for the money I would want a bit more but having said that Seahouses is an expensive place now.”

“Really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Beautiful room, great amenities within it. Bar and restaurant very modern, serving great drinks and food.”

“The hotel was in need of a spruce up. Tha bar was a disappointing space, we chose to sit on the terrace. The concierge was very helpful at check in and the bar manager was very helpful and chatty. Our room was one of the lodges. A large space with very comfortable bed but let down by a very spartan bathroom. A waterfall shower only and basically toiletries. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room. Good choice and very tasty. Staff good. Unfortunately the chairs we had were badly stained...

“Self access = soulless. Didn't see another person. Empty tables in the dining room felt like the Marie Celeste. Breakfast in a bakery and fridge in the room. Very expensive for what it was. Very dim lighting.”

“No more than okay … Lowry stayed at the hotel in the 1930s … it seemed to be like it was still caught in that era. Like so many hotels in the UK now lack of attention to detail is have a present.”

“The Hotel is a little dated but the norm for a town like Coldstream. The food was good, the breakfast excellent and the staff really cared about the clients. We enjoyed it and the locals were friendly and the service for our dog excellent.”
