The hotel was one of our favorite stays - it was clean and peaceful, The room was spacious and perfect for travelers! The restaurant on site was delicious as was the breakfast. Highly recommend!

Beautiful spot with great views on either side. We enjoyed watching the sheep grazing below our window and a fabulous dinner at the restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable and I had a very good night sleep.

Very very helpful staff. The gentleman at the reception also helped us carry our heavy luggage to the rooms. The breakfast spread was incredible. Never seen anything like this anywhere in Iceland, lot of local and continental delicacies. The room was also great, very spacious. Would love to be back.

Our plane was almost 5 hrs late, arrived at hotel around 11:30pm, did call in earlier to mention we will be really late, the gentleman at bar/front desk was welcoming us. Also did not close the dinning area until we got a cup of hot water and hot chocolate. Good breakfast and nice scene in the morning, close to Diamond beach and glacier, convenient 1st stop from KEF

Overall, this was a very nice hotel with a good location, and the breakfast was especially good. Our only confusion was about the water supply. At check-in, we were told that a pipe was broken and under repair, and a note in the room asked guests to “use water wisely.” However, we had running water throughout our stay. We understood that supplying water in such a remote location may be difficult, but clearer information would have been helpful.

The place is a tad outdated, but it has a great nostalgic look and charm. The free breakfast was fantastic, and the dinners were really good. The wifi was spotty, but nothing that toggling between the two networks didn't solve. The location is fantastic, we stayed for two nights and were able to make day trips toward Vatnajökull National Park, Jokulsarlon and Fjallsárlón lagoons, and Diamond Beach one day, then toward Hofn and Stokksnes the next. We'd definitely stay here again and suggest the hotel to anyone looking to spend a few days in this area.
