“Advertised as an apartment with breakfast included. But in reality is a chalet bedroom and ensuite. Breakfast was 2 mini yogurts in the fridge, a couple of tiny croissants and cereals. Beverages are DIY. Check in is via a member of staff behind the bar in the pub. Unresponsive to phone calls with the number provided prior to the stay where I attempted to know if there was possibility of an earlier check-in but since not being able to get through I had to check-in at the standard 3pm. “I enjoyed my stay but was disappointed with the limited choice at breakfast. Only cooked breakfast which I don't eat and no cereals, porridge or fruit etc.”

“What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend.”

“The staff were all wonderful and helpful . It was 36c+ . The building is an old historic property with newly refurbished bedrooms . A fan was in the room to help with the heat . Small but comfortable with a lovely bathroom. My room faced the front and with the heat I needed my window open . The property is by the traffic lights so if you are traffic averse , ask for a rear room . Breakfast is continental but you can pay extra for a cooked breakfast, but not on Sundays . Room for 3 cars to park...

“This venue is very traditional and in an era from 1970s. I kind of like that! Staff were lovely and food was great. Golf course was beautiful although had been suffering with this summer heat. Buggies a must for me. Didnt use the spa facilities. Love the cricket memorabilia!”

“A lovely traditional pub within striking distance of many beautiful places. The food was always great particularly the breakfast and came out wonderfully hot and on hot place which is so often an issue in other hotels. It's lovely to sit out in the garden and we were staying while the World Cup and Wimbledon were on and it was easy to catch the games in the evening but also lots of space to get away from the action. “We enjoyed our one night stay in this historic pub, with free off street parking. Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint. The room was small,but comfortable with a private bathroom with shower,along with complimentary tea and coffee. Would recommend this Inn for exploring this historic area of East Sussex.”
