“While we liked the theme of the pub, and the staff were friendly, the stay was let down by a poor nights sleep due to very thin walls and chatter in the pub past 11pm (despite the pub closing at 10). I did complain, and the noise did stop after some time, but it took a significant amount of time to get to sleep even after that. The pillows were also not to our preference, being extremely soft, but we didn’t raise this with staff (as we only stayed one night) so we don’t know if there were any...

“Me and my partner Ross stayed at The Cornmill last saturday and we both had a pleasent experience, Karen is very welcoming & accomodating and all round a lovely person. The room we stayed in was immaculate aswell and to top it all off, breakfast was absolutely superb! “Room was totally fine. Bed was comfy. Given tea and coffee. I brought my own little lamp as the only light is the main one. Toilets and shower are external and pretty run of the mill. Nice selection of beers and ales in the pub. Breakfast was nice”

“The lady on reception last night was lovely. Showed us round the facilities and to my room. Bedroom was clean and tidy. Was going for an operation so want able to do breakfast but I’d definitely book again and bring my girls. The hotel was a lovely old manor style house with all its features.”

“Conveniently located by the harbour and castle. Room 2 (twin room) was basic but clean and comfortable with everything in working order. As our stay was during the summer heatwave, it’s difficult to comment on whether it’d be warm in cooler months. Somewhat noisy at night and early morning due to the room facing the main harbour road.”

“Definitely a 5 star B&B. Lovely big room with terrace seating outside, overlooking the sheep and guinea fowl in the fields. Loads of parking. Very clean and well presented. The owners have pretty much thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and feel homely. Breakfast, with loads of choice, is cooked freshly to order in the area that serves as a bistro on several evenings in the week. We ate at the bistro - 'Feather and Beak' on one occasion and the food was outstanding. The owners...

“The owners are a lovely couple and made us so welcome. I would recommend them to everyone. There is a downstairs bedroom if you cannot manage stairs. Breakfast was the best i have ever had in a B&B. Plenty of parking available on site. On a quiet road so easy to pull out. I cannot fault it.”

“The whole place smelled of damp and mould. The bedroom had a very strong smell of cow manure from the farm next door. We could not stay it was so bad. And they have refused to refund any of our £150. Save yourself the wasted journey, time and money and go somewhere else.”

“The room was lovely and very comfortable. I had some difficulty with the stairs both in the accommodation and in the outer building because of my mobility, so I would warn others of the steepness of the stairs. Everything was very clean and well presented, plenty of continental breakfast choices, tea and coffee etc. This would only have been improved by a more practical washing up facility than the bathroom sink. Having said that though, the bathroom was spotlessly clean.”
