We had an amazing stay at Gora and would recommend this stay to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with an authentic feel to it. The food was phenomenal throughout and the service was unparalleled! Only regret is that we wish we had stayed longer to take advantage of the activities around the location.

What an amazing stay! I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff were so polite and attentive. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service of each course was the best we have received in Japan thus far (and everywhere has been great)! Beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds. It was my birthday and they even printed off a keepsake photo for me.

Unlike any experience ive had before. The hotel sends someone to pick you up from the station, the atmosphere is so wonderful as soon as you walk in, the staff is attentive and friendly, my room was phenomenal and the view was breathtaking

Incredible experience! Delicious meal, and Gora Hanougi was super accommodating to an allergy request (although do read their limitations!) I really appreciated the clear communication prior to staying there and it really set me at ease. I was personally a bit nervous about the Kaiseki meal as someone who is not very into seafood (with a partner who eats everything) but I had plenty I could still enjoy (and braved a few things too!) SO good. Room and open air bath was fantastic. We got some fog and rain and it was still magical.

Beautiful, traditional and tranquil. Wonderful onsen facilities, both private and public. Staff are extremely attentive. Early check in is not accepted but as soon at the clock strikes 3pm the service and quality of attention to the guests snaps into place, almost like a light switch. Food is served in a beautiful dining room with private booths for each guest. Lots of variety and many little dishes, some of which will definitely not be suitable to western palates but the experience itself is a beautiful one

This was the perfect traditional Japanese experience with stunning views, wonderful staff and beautiful rooms. The private outdoor onsen bath was perfection with a morning coffee or tea. The public onsen with it’s outdoor area was peaceful and charming in the rain. We had a private shoji screened in dining room each evening and the same wonderful hostess for our greeting, and for both dinner and breakfast. She was so lovely! The elevator right up to the Hakone Ropeway was a wonderful feature as was the fast shuttle pick up from Gora station. Highly recommend this very special place!

Outstanding service, property, amenities, and pajamas! Excellent communications with the staff. Miyu was great and taught us about the prefectures and sources of some of the fruit and vegetables in our kaiseki. Our private onsen was clean and relaxing. We will be recommending Gora Hanaougi to our friends and family.
