Vacations Close To Sylvester Manor

AC did not work the 1st night. Fixed for 2nd night but didn’t work well. Elevator did not work on day of check out. Checking out with luggage was stressful from the 4th floor. Staff was excellent. Breakfast has bacon.

I have been a long term customer of Sonder and love the self checkin process. Since Sonder no longer in business, I thought I would try this property since it markets itself as a former Sonder (I had usually stayed at the John St and Platt st Sonders in the Fin District.) Check in process was easy and same as Sonder before. However after that it was not the same. Every time I left my room each day, my code didn’t work when I returned. Had to call them every day (outside main lobby door at night) and wait 5-10 min to get in hotel and my room while they verified who I was and reset my code. On top of that, on my third night when on the phone outside my room waiting for them to fix my room access code for the 3rd day in a row, another guest tried to access my room right in front of me! She said they sent her a code with my room number! I told her you can’t go in there as that is my room and all of my personal belongings are in there! While I was still waiting on the phone with the hotel to fix my code, she had to call the hotel on another line! Once my wife and I finally got into our room on that last night of our stay, I not only locked the door but barricaded it from the inside with our luggage for fear that someone else would try to use a code and access our room while we were sleeping! I have no plans to return to this property again due to these issues. No confidence that new owners know how to use the access codes and ensure that each guest feels safe.

Good place, don’t expect huge rooms

Our Housekeeper was amazing. Rooms were small as expected. My biggest pet peeve is that there was no in room coffee. I want a cup or two while waking up and getting ready for the day. I dont want to have to get ready just to wait in a long line to pay for overpriced coffee. My wife wasnt happy not having a chair or small table to sit at to put makeup on or at least a chair to put your shoes on. No room service, No small frig, No microwave, to heat food or reheat coffee after traveling downstairs to and the long trip back to the room.

Room was clean and breakfast was good. The staff was very kind and helpful.
