We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay with friends to celebrate my 60th Birthday. I particularly liked the balcony and sea view. The Rock Hotel is very well situated for the botanical gardens, where we did parkrun, and for exploring the Rock.

This hotel is iconic and you really feel it throughout the property. Nostalgia is high. Food was good. We had Sunday dinner and it was delightful. Even the bar food was high standard. Two slight downsides - found a dirty sock under the bed when we were leaving, which made us wonder how well it was cleaned. And the shower pressure was not great. Wife with long hair had trouble washing it. To be fair to hotel, we only advised them of this when we left so don’t know if they could have fixed and it didn’t impact our stay much.

Lovely swimming pool. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is lovely and the service second to none. Cannot fault it. Busses go close to the property so you don’t need to rely on taxis as well. Great stay and highly recommend

We arrived later than planned because our flight was diverted to Malaga due to an island-wide power outage. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the bay and Spain. Our rate included the buffet breakfast, which seemed rather chaotic at times. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening, but the bar was very reasonably-priced for the essential sundowner!

Great hotel, rooms very clean, had fabulous sea view watching the ships moving in and out of the harbour, recommend junior suite for accommodation as very spacious, lovely communal areas - bar, verandah etc all with great views. Hotel ideally located, short walk to town, nature reserve, gardens and the rock! .
