Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The pool was mediocre at best and appeared to be in fairly rough condition. Several areas of the property were boarded off or under construction, which took away from the overall experience. The shower drain also backed up while showering, which was unpleasant. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the buffet breakfast was underwhelming and offered very little variety. Overall, the property felt tired and in need of some attention. While it’s unlikely I’ll find myself in Gander again, if I do return, I’ll be choosing somewhere else to stay.

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was good. We used this for a stopover in the middle of the province, and it served us well. If you are looking for a functional place that clicks all the boxes, this is it. There is no gift shop, but there is a store and a Tim Horton's across the street. It is conveniently located on the highway and it has a decent restaurant and lounge, so you can just stay in the hotel for the evening if you would like.

Overall, our stay was good, but either the carpet or the air-conditioning had a weird smell. The staff were great and offered to transfer rooms, but the smell was in both rooms so we just stayed put where we were. The breakfast buffet was good, but the set up was a little crowded which made getting it onto our plates a little stressful. I think a totally different section to make toast and waffles would be a great idea to keep the lines somewhat moving. If somebody was making toast or waffles, you would have to stay there and wait while others were trying to get around you. overall, considering the price, breakfast buffet, and the pool, our stay was good.
