“Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10”

“I liked the hotel and the staff were lovely. The food in the restaurant was particularly good. The reason I gave a poor review rating overall was because the fire alarm went off at 12:50 am and then rang intermittently for 45 minutes because apparently the Staff could not override a fault on the control panel or something like that. I had stopped at the hotel because I was very tired after lots of travelling and needed a sleep before going onto Edinburgh so this was very disappointing as I only...

“A very warm and genuine welcome on arrival. The room was perfectly adequate for my needs, nice double bed with views over the rooftops of the historic town centre and over to the moors. Delicious cooked-to-order breakfast.”

“It’s a premier inn Self check in seemed ok a bit impersonal On arrival we were early and no power in hotel but all good we returned later It’s on a courtyard shared with sainsbury Penrith itself isn’t very inviting but the hotel is ok”

“Onernight stay on way to Scotland. Lovely quiet location within a few miles of M6. Friendly staff, clean pleasant room. Had evening meal in the restaurant which was very good. Enjoyed it so much we repeated the experience on the way back! Second night room was a bit smaller but fine for overnight. ”
