Staff were very professional and welcoming. Very convenient location. Can be a bit noisy due to location near Canal St. but otherwise would highly recommend.

The hotel has lots of character and I love the decor. The important stuff (bed, bathroom) was generally clean, but our suite smelled like mildew and was in dire need of a very deep clean. The floor under the bed was dirty, there were smudges on the walls, baseboards, holes in the windowsill and the door itself was filthy. It seems like they are really cutting corners there. It’s also a very noisy place. The big chandelier was gorgeous but rattled every time someone upstairs walked across the floor. In fact, the whole room shook. The walls were thin and we could easily hear our neighbors and outside noise. Amenities were not great - bare minimum on towels, only one toilet paper roll - but to be fair, we didn’t raise any of these issues given the short duration of our stay, so I have no way of knowing if the staff would have fixed them had we said something. Pool was dirty and looked much nicer in photos, which is my overall impression of the hotel - better in pics. I wouldn’t go back, given the price and the general area. I also wasn’t impressed with the fact that they wanted to charge me $50 to check in an hour early. I declined, but those things add up and will not make me a return customer!

This is an excellent boutique hotel on St. Charles Avenue with on-site self parking and easy access to the streetcar to move about if you don't feel like walking (the streetcar runs down the center of St. Charles). The front desk staff was friendly (Geoffrey was extremely helpful and attentive.) My only complaint is that the towels in the room seemed a bit worn and not fitting for a higher quality hotel. This is an easy fix -- if they order some new towels. There are many restaurants lining St. Charles Avenue, and if you wanna mix it up with the locals after hours, there's a dive bar called Igor's just a few doors down from the hotel. On my last night, I grabbed some cheap deli Brother's Fried Chicken from the convenience store on the corner and ate it while drinking a beer sitting outside Igor's. The DJ was playing old school R&B, and I sat there and chilled until I got sleepy, then took the few steps to the hotel and crashed. All in all this is a good quiet hotel on an interesting street. I'll stay here again.
