The place is really cozy and has a warm cabin feel. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Only complaint was the bed wasn't very comfortable and the pillows were a little flat for my liking. Overall the place was a nice stay and the staff were really friendly.

Great place to stay outside of the park. Around a 20 minute drive to the nearest town where you can get gas and food. Around 13 minutes to the South Gate and around an hour to the valley. Great forest view from the balcony.

It was one of my favorite places to stay in Yosemite. The location was beautiful, and I really enjoyed my time there. The only downside was the beds—they could definitely use an upgrade. The mattress was uncomfortable, and I woke up with back pain after sleeping on it. Overall, I would stay here again, but more comfortable beds would make the experience even better.

I thought the place was great! The staff went out of their way to help in any way possible. The room was clean, bright, decorated perfectly and had a great view from the deck. Narrow Gauge was a basic mountain motel. Some old charm and basic accommodations. The room we were in (38) was a bit noisy with a wooden staircase and rickety noisy wooden porch outside the door. Bed was comfy and had all necessities. Carpet was a bit grody and small shower but very good water pressure. Staff at the front were super and the restaurant and bar are good.

uncomfortable bed and flat pillows, mini fridge suppose to have mixes for spirits but there was none, mirror above sink to high, hair dryer cord not long enough to reach the mirror on the vanity. What ever cleaning supplies or deodorizer they use was so strong had to keep door and window open all day for it to somewhat dissipate. Friendly front desk but not very friendly maintenance workers and housekeeping. Nice large shared deck, very nice grounds. The restaurant was food was excellent, the best we have had in long time. We had the brussels sprout and bacon wrapped shrimp and crab cakes with Cajun sauce for appetizer and the lamb for entry, everything was so good!

We stayed for two nights. There were no shampoo or conditioner. Also, they do not provide daily service, so if you need more toilet paper, coffee, cups, etc. you must request it. We just walked to the office and asked for what we needed. The key didn’t work in the deadbolt! Also, the peep hole was just a hole in the door! 2nd night we ate at the restaurant, I had wedge salad with salmon on the side. It was delicious. I probably won’t stay there again, but I definitely would eat there.

Simple mountain lodge hotel room but with great staff and amazing outdoor amenities. My favorite part might have been the comfy rockers on the balcony that overlooks the mountains and nearby stream but there were lots of other outdoor areas for gathering to relax and enjoy the mountains. Very friendly staff that are super helpful and knowledgeable for exploring the area.

We did not receive the room we booked. What we booked was a beautiful room with white walls, beamed ceiling and ceiling fan, a roomy bathroom and requested no steps. What we got was a very tiny outdated room with paneling with 14 steps necessary to get to it, a very small bathroom with a tiny sink about three feet off the ground and a shower no shower chair could fit in, even if one was available. Instead, the Manager brought us a folding chair that could not fit in the shower with a person in it if you wanted to close the door. The room was dark and there was only one chair to sit on and cable that did not work. On the upside, the room was pretty clean and the bed was very comfortable. Parking was good and the restaurant, albeit under staffed, had good food. Pretty disappointing and overpriced for what we got.
