We had a fantastic few days at Shieldhill Farmhouse with our extended family. Everything was clean and tidy and we all felt at home the minute we walked through the door. There were lots of little extra things such as toys for the children, recommendations for restaurants and takeaways, and goodies on arrival which were lovely. It's a big open farmhouse, and Scotland isn't known for it's tropical weather so we were a little chilly (even in August!) but we just popped a jumper and slippers on and got on with it! I'd imagine with a roaring fire in the winter it's really cosy. It was a great base for discovering Falkirk and Edinburgh, and we had a great time. If we all organise ourselves to meet up again in future, we'll certainly be back!
